DIGINEXT offers a large range of training sessions to help you get started with VirtualGeo and supports you with its evolutions year after year. These training sessions can be either standard or tailored to your specific needs.

Introduction Course (2 days)

This training session provides an ideal starter for all users from any industry and background. The course is short and intensive, combining lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice.

  • Discover the features and principles behind VirtualGeo
  • Familiarize yourself with the VirtualGeo workflow
  • Learn essential skills to create and publish your project

Who should attend?

New VirtualGeo users

Prerequisites:

Delegates must have a working knowledge of Cartography.

Course outline:

  • Day 1

General concepts of Cartography

- Vocabulary and concepts
- Coordinate System: ellipsoid, datum, etc.
- Projection
- Great Circle / Rhumb line
- Various common file formats (pros / cons)

VirtualGeo

- Introduction and Concepts
- Introduction to Studio and project creation
- Addition of vector, raster and 3D

 
  • Day 2

Using VirtualGeo Studio

- Configuration of the data layers
- Annotation
- Measures
- Local publication
- Publication on the Server

VirtualGeo Workflow

- Integration with VirtualGeo Web
- VirtualGeo SDK Overview
- Introduction of VirtualGeo Server

Going further

- Configuration (cache, perf,data format)
- Using Lua to prototype

Courses topics may be modified by the instructor based upon the knowledge and skill level of the course participants.

Regular standard training courses are hosted in DIGINEXT premises (Toulouse, France), grouping a maximum of 6 persons. DIGINEXT reserves the right to cancel a training session if the number of participants is not sufficient.

On-demand standard training courses can be organized at a location that better suits you, especially if more than two persons from your company intend to follow the training course.

Dedicated Training

The program of a dedicated training session is adapted to your level of skill and tailored to meet your specific needs and requirements. A dedicated training may include practical exercises on your own data, consultancy about the design of a new project, or technical assistance to help you to get the most of Inscape authoring features on a project in progress.

The training can last from 1 to 5 days. It can take place on-site, at your company, or at DIGINEXT premises. We recommend no more than 5 to 6 persons during training sessions.
