The VirtualGeo team was honored to be invited to take part in the official presentation of the innovative features of the new French Géoportail.
Géoportail is the geographic portal of the French government whose aim is to publicize georeferenced data about the whole French territory. With millions of connections, this massively successful service is developed by two public agencies (the IGN and the BRGM).
We are proud to announce that the new French Géoportail was released, powered by VirtualGeo as 3D dataset browser.
New 3D datasets will be publicized soon on Géoportail benefiting from the most advanced capabilities of VirtualGeo 3. Stay tuned !

The VirtualGeo's ability to meet the requirements of the most critical and demanding applications will be showcased on DIGINEXT's booth (n°K46 - Hall 5) at Eurosatory. In particular, the latest VirtualGeo's innovations in the field of massive and very high-resolution geographic, cartographic and architectural 3D reconstruction, storage and interactive visualisation will be presented.
From June 11th to 15th 2012, Eurosatory not only confirms but also built on its role as the world-leading land, airland and homeland defence exhibition. More than 1 400 exhibitors from 50 countries and 55,000 visitors are expected by the organisators.
7-9 February 2012, Monaco
VirtualGeo has been highlighted on Diginext booth at the Imagina exhibition, the European 3D simulation and virtual technology event, which took place in Monaco from February 7th until 9th.
As usual, our booth welcomed a large number of visitors, including Sovereign Prince of Monaco Albert II, who were amazed by VirtualGeo capabilities and performances demonstrated on both a stereoscopic immersive screen wall and a large multitouch table.
Geoconcept, the leading european Geographical Information System editor, also joined Diginext on its booth to demonstrate its brand new GeoConcept V7 flagship product, which deeply integrates the VirtualGeo technology.
5-6 December 2011, Brussels
The V-City project which relies on VirtualGeo for the city interactive exploration has been selected with 49 other European research projects for the first Innovation Convention organised by the European Commission on both the 5th and 6th of December 2011 in Square Brussels Meeting Centre. The latest project results will be demonstrated on the V-City booth. More information is available at Innovation Convention 2011 website.
This first edition of the Innovation Convention will be opened by President Barroso one year after the adoption of the Innovation Union flagship initiative, the EU's roadmap to turn Europe into a more innovation-friendly and competitive continent. Research and innovation are the main motors for sustainable job creation and the only way to achieve a sustainable exit from the current economic crisis. This conference will bring together world leading experts in research and innovation to share their views on building a global innovation economy. Speakers will include Don Tapscott, Chairman of Moxie Insight (Canada), and co-author of 'Macrowikinomics: Rebooting Business and the World', Eric Schmidt, Executive Chairman of Google (USA), Professor Brian Cox, particle physicist and well known BBC science broadcaster (UK), Claudie Haigner, former astronaut and President of Universcience (FR), Professor Henry Chesbrough, Centre for Open Innovation (USA), Sam Pitroda, entrepreneur and advisor to the Prime Minister of India on innovation, Richard Dawkins, evolutionary biologist, former Professor of the Public Understanding of Science and author of several books, including ' The God Delusion' (UK), Silvia Venturini Fendi, fashion designer (IT) and Michael O'Leary, CEO, Ryanair (IE).
