The new release of VirtualGeo 2 will be version 2.4, available end of February 2010. In addition to many improvements in the proposed features, this new release enables the realistic visualisation of the ocean surface including swell and waves.

The VirtualGeo technology has been selected for the implementation of a major contract for the French Ministry of Defense. This contract aims to develop and integrate a training center for the French forces that will be based on VirtualGeo for the command and control operations and the 2D/3D visualisation of massive geographic datasets.

Diginext is pleased to announce that the European Space Research Institute (ESRIN) has deployed the DUKE application, based on the VirtualGeo technology, to study and demonstrate the application of space observation products for homeland security.
VirtualGeo has been demonstrated on CS booth during the Security Research Conference 2008 conference in Paris. Organised under the French Presidency of the European Union, this event brought together more than 1,200 representatives from the worlds of research, industry and European institutions. SRC’08 was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the Ministry of the Interior, Overseas Territories and Local Authorities and the Ministry of Defence with the support of the European Commission.
The main objective of SRC’08 was to showcase the concrete implications of security research for citizens on the one hand and to stress the need to bring together research and innovation offers and security needs and the market on the other hand.
This conference, which is also part of the actions undertaken under the European Security Research Programme (ESRP) of the 7th Framework programme (FP7), was opened by European authorities representing the Commission and the Parliament as well as by the Ministers in charge of research and domestic security.

From June 16th to 20th 2008, Eurosatory not only confirmed but also built on its role as the world-leading land, airland and homeland defence exhibition. It was attended by 1,210 exhibitors from 52 countries and drew 52,414 visitors from 131 different countries.
